A North Carolina 9-year-old boy was suspended after being accused of sexually harassing a teacher. Emanyea Lockett didn't touch her inappropriately; he simply called her "cute".

As WSOCTV reports, Chiquita Lockett says the principal of Brookside Elementary called her last week to say that a substitute teacher overheard him tell another student a she was cute. The principal allegedly called this a form of "sexual harassment." He was suspended for two days as a result.

"It's not like he went up to the woman and tried to grab her or touch her in a sexual way," Ms. Lockett said. "So why would he be suspended for two days?" Emanyea told the station his remarks weren't inappropriate.

"I said Ms. Taylor was cute, and that's it," he said. "That's all I said."

The school's code of conduct doesn't list sexual harassment, but does mention possession of any gun, rifle, pistol, firearm, prohibited substance or assault of a school employee as grounds for long-term suspension.

A spokeswoman from the school district said Emanyea was suspended for "inappropriate behavior" and making "inappropriate statements," WSOCTV.com reported.

Do you think Emanyea Lockett's "cute" comment was sexual harassment?
