This year’s Super Bowl is more high-tech than ever before and companies are pulling out all the stops come Super Bowl Sunday.

The interaction between the big game and viewers is at an all time high. The Super Bowl is more than just a game, it’s one of the original shared social experiences happening in homes across America, and now, online too.

“Social media allows the fan to directly interact with their favorite players, favorite coaches,” said Mark Francis a sports marketing consultant. “Two way communications is what’s important and creating that interactive atmosphere.”

Some come for the game, others for the ads. See something you like? Hulu’s Ad Zone lets viewers immediately re-watch commercials seen during the big game.

“We’ve got the greatest ads from the last 40 years,” said Jean-Paul Colaco, a representative from Hulu. “We’ve got the funniest ads [and] we’ve also got celebrity moments where celebrities actually appear in the ads.”

Viewers can also vote on favorites to share or watch the best ads from years past.

Shazam--the company made famous for its music recognition app--is hoping to apply the same magic to ads as well.

“Listen” and tag an ad during the big game and you can get behind the scenes exclusives and more. This year, up to a third of the ads will be Shazam-able so have your phone ready!

Chevy’s game time app features stats and trivia, plus the chance to win thousands of prizes during the big game--including 20 brand new cars.

“They’ve really got their tentacles out there and are attracting people to watch their commercials during the Super Bowl,” said Francis describing the advertisers and marketers.

Even betting squares is going high-tech, jumping from paper to tablet. Football Squares Plus 2.1 is three dollars and keeps all of your friend’s bets in order. An Android version called Super Bowl Squares Game is also available in the Android Market.

This is also the first time the Super Bowl will be live streamed in the U.S. Verizon subscribers will be able to watch streams of the game via the NFL Mobile app--no more missing the big plays during a bathroom break.
