Helping Hand For Relief & Development (HHRD) and its volunteers are collecting donations to help Pakistani flood victims.
Brand New Items are most appreciated but used items, that are in good shape, will also be accepted.
You can drop items off seven days a week between 11am-6pm at the Helping Hand's office located in Royal Center at 11955 Bissonnet in Houston.
Each donor will be issued a receipt at the site for their In-Kind donations.
Helping Hand is collecting the following items:
1) Tax-Deductible Monetary Donations ($20 or whatever small or big amount you can afford that will be used to ship the containers from Houston to Pakistan and clearance & distribution in Pakistan);
2) Some Important Miscellaneous Things: Oral Re-hydration Solution, Mosquito Repellents, Prickly Heat Powder, Water Purification Tablets and Units, Candles/Match Boxes, Torches & Batteries; and as many as possible from U-Haul Store Cartons (Size: 15" x 15" x 12");
3) Bottled Water and Non-Perishable Food Items including Ready-to-Eat Foods, Dried Milk for children and families, Dates, High nutrition biscuits, Food Packets consisting of tea, sugar, milk powder, vegetable oil, pulses and spices, Mineral water, etc.
4) Personal Hygiene Kits including Soaps, Hand Towels, Tooth Paste, Tooth Brush, Female Sanitary Pads, Children & Adult Diapers/Pampers; Plastic Tubs/Buckets, and Washing Powder/Soap.
5) Medicines (Check on Expiry Date, which needs to be at least one year or more): Most needed: Anti-typhoid; Anti-Cholera; Anti-Malaria; Anti-Tetanus; Anti-Diarrheal; Anti-Snake Venom.
