One Year Later, Still No Leads in Death of EZ Loan Employee

Crime Stoppers is asking for help to solve a year old murder.

Irenena Ashford, an EZ Loan employee, was killed during an apparent robbery on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008. Police say a man entered the EZ Loan Store in the 7000 block of the North Freeway Service Road and shot Ashford. Surveillance video caught the man exiting and then re-entering a red or maroon Chevrolet 1500 step side pickup truck. The truck had chrome bedrails on both sides of the truck.


Investigators found Ashford dead at the scene.

A few days before, on Oct. 18, 2008, police say two suspects stole a woman's purse in a parking lot at 11077 Northwest Freeway. They believe it may be the same suspects.
