Recently I was reading US Weekly and I came across a blurb about Kourtney Kardashian and how she breast feeds in public. She says, "If I have to feed him, I just whip it out. If I'm doing it in public and someone doesn't like it - don't look!"

I'm not a mother so I decided to go to 39 Viewers and see what they thought about breastfeeding in public. Little did I know I would create such a "momtroversy" on Facebook. Here are some of the postingsÂ….

Adina North- Felt like taking on a hot topic did ya? If the baby's got to eat, the baby's got to eat. When I nursed B in public, you saw more skin on magazine covers or on women wearing low cut tops than you did on me. Nursing you baby is normal, our society's fixation with breasts as sexual thing is not. Most other countries in the world manage to have much higher breastfeeding rates, with none of this ridiculous fuss. At this point most states have laws saying that baby can nurse wherever mama has a right to be, and honestly, anyone who had asked me to leave to nurse would have gotten an earful. I have more to say on the matter, and I'm sure everyone else will too. At some point your going to get a comment comparing it to peeing or having sex in public, something about women needing to be "discreet", putting a blanket over baby's head, or going into a restroom to nurse. Someone will say it is disgusting to nurse and that's not what breasts are for (yes, I have actually heard this several times), or that nursing moms should just stay home. All of this is especially fascinating given how recently formula was invented, and how rapidly it has become the accepted way to feed your baby.

Kristel Jelinek Brown- It's such a beautiful thing that mothers can provide everything a child needs! Our society needs to stop being so uptight. We promote and celebrate things like "Girls Next Door" and yet suggest breastfeeding in public is inappropriate?!! Xoxo, sweet girl!

Jennie Patten- I think if I were back at that stage of motherhood again I would tell people to get over it, I am making the "green" choice. No bottles, no trash, I should get a bigger tax break, not be harassed!

Sam Rodriguez- As a male, not comfortable seeing breastfeeding in public. I am very modest. Things that come out of one's body should be done in private.

Tony Niles- no problem with it at all as long as a certain amount of discretion is involved. my wife did it with 3 boys and most of the time people were hardly aware.

I think we came to an agreementÂ…it's okay to breast feed as long as it's discreet and you're not showing all your business.
