This weekend only you can get dresses at deep discounts and it's all for a good cause.
It's all part of the brides against breast cancer tour of gowns.
Thursday evening dozens of volunteers worked as fast as they could to get hundreds of gowns on the racks in time for tomorrow's big show.
Money from all the dresses sold goes toward helping the Making Memories Breast Cancer Foundation, a non profit organization dedicated to granting final wishes for people, both men and women, with stage four cancer. "We do a lot of trips to Disneyland and second honeymoons," said Brenda Chovanak of the Making Memories Foundation.
11 years ago, when the organization was founded, most of the dresses were donated by people cleaning out their closets. Now organizers have taken the show on the road traveling to some 36 cities around the country. "Most of these gowns are brand new donated by manufacturers designers and bridal shops what you'll find the tags are still on them," said Chovanak.
You'll find dresses in all colors and sizes from 4 to 24 and all the prices have been reduced 25-75%. Even the couture gowns, like Vera Wang are on sale. We found one that was originally $4,000 going for $1,500.
They don't only sell gowns, but brand new tiaras, shoes and slips. "We also have alteration specialist that will be volunteers in the dressing rooms to make sure that a bride knows if a dress is going to work or not," Chovanak said.
A special purchase that's more than just a buying dress, but helping families create memories that will last forever.
