Investigators say the woman drove across all the lanes of the freeway, over the grass and onto the feeder road at a high rate of speed, before slamming into the METRO bus. The driver and passenger were taken to the hospital, where the driver later died. There were no passengers on the METRO bus at the time of the crash. The bus driver told police he was parked with his flashers blinking. HPD investigators think a medical emergency may have caused the driver to lose control of her car. Her identity has not been released.
