"Several months ago delay after delay I kept saying I'll be home for christmas and other would remind me that the chorus says if only in my dreams," said Rev. Green.

But Rev. Green never lost hope that he would once again open up the doors to his church. He said even though Hurricane Ike destroyed the foundation of the church, it did not destroy the spirit of the congregation.

"The people really are the heart and soul, God works through the people not just the building," said Rev. Green.

It's a new future for a church that has seen its share of destruction and Rev. Green will continue to lead this congregation through tough times. He truly believes there is always a light at the end of the tunnel.
