DICKINSON -
The Dickinson Police Department has canceled an Amber Alert issued Sunday for 3-year-old Taelah Yvette Smith.
Investigators said Smith and her grandfather, Wilbert Burton, were found by the Alvin Police Department about 10:15 a.m. Monday in the 1400 block of Victory Lane. A resident recognized the pair from the Amber Alert and alerted police.
According to investigators, Taelah was last seen with her grandfather, Wilbert Earl Burton, Saturday at about 9:45 a.m.
"The little girl was staying with her grandfather and great-grandmother in Dickinson while her mother was out of town," DPD Detective Craig Fos said. "She and her grandfather were going to a friend's house in La Marque, but they never made it there."
Police said both are in good health. Smith's family members are en route to pick her up.
No charges are being filed at this time.
