Monday night in Bellaire, city leaders met behind closed doors to discuss their legal options and find out where individual city council members stand on the plan. Building the stadium on a tract of private property south of 59 at 610 could save Houston tax-payers money, but neighboring Bellaire wants no part of the plan.

Neighbors who live close to the site voice mostly opposition to the proposal. Many said the stadium would be too close to residential neighborhoods and that street congestion in the area would be greatly impacted if this stadium comes to Bellaire.

The council talked behind closed doors due to attorney / client privileges. The council may take action after the executive session once it reconvenes in the public forum.
