Another teen has died in Friday's fatal crash that claimed the lives of two other teenage girls. According to police all three girls were thrown from a vehicle when they were hit by an alleged drunk driver.
"She said mommy I love you and I said I love you too just be careful in the morning I will go pick you up," said Katty Alaniz.
Alaniz was suppose to pick up her daughter, thirteen year old Avianca Cortez, from a friend's house on Saturday morning but just fifteen minutes after talking with her she received a frantic call from a friend's mother urging her to meet them at the scene of a car accident.
"I knew that had to be my baby laying on the ground," said Alaniz.
Avianca and four other friends were inside a Ford expedition. One of the teen's parents had just picked up from a party. Police said a twenty six year old man may have been drunk behind the wheel and ran a red light.
"My baby did nothing wrong," said Alaniz in tears.
Rashaunda Raleigh and Detrihanna Davis also died, the other two teens and the adults inside the vehicle received minor injuries.
"I loved her with all my heart and I miss her," said Martin Vallecilla, twelve year old brother. "I wish she was here playing with us."
It has been an emotional weekend for Avianca's family but for a few hours, the family has found enough strenght to walk in the hot sun and ask for donations.
"I've never seen myself as someone asking for money," said Alaniz.
The insurance company will not cover Avianca's funeral costs since the police report states she was not wearing her seat belt.
"She always wears her seat belt," said Alaniz holding a picture of her daughter wearing a seat belt in a picture she recently took.
Alaniz wants to give her daughter a proper burial and hopes the three teen's tragic death make others realize the dangers of drinking and driving.
Houston police are waiting on blood test results to determine if the twenty seven year old driver will be charged with intoxication manslaughter.
The family has set up a bank account, if you would like to help the Alaniz family donations can be made to the following account:
