Driving down West Road in Northwest Houston you can't help but notice a giant sign hanging outside Crossbridge Christian Church. It says Free Weddings. It's kind of hard to believe, right? So we stopped by to see if it really is the real deal.

"We just wanted to demonstrate God's love in a tangible way," said Pastor Kevin Pigg.

He said he thought of the idea when working at a previous church in Oklahoma City. He had such an exceptional turnout he thought he'd try it here in Houston.

Getting hitched at Crossbridge typically costs around $1,500, but for three dates in the Spring and three in the Fall – he will give away a total of 17 weddings free of charge!

The building, the wedding coordinators, the decorations and of course the pastor. "I'll give them a certificate that's good for $60 off their marriage certificate, plus I'm going to give them the $11 - a wedding certificate is $71," Pastor Pigg said.

It's completely free! All you have to do is sign up!

So, how is this possible you may be wondering? Pastor Pigg got all the key players in the wedding process to donate their services.

Donna Kurtz, one of the wedding coordinators said they have already put in about 60 hours just putting together the decorations. "Most of the items we have are donations form the members of our congregation," she said.

They even came up with three different wedding schemes so the bride will have some options. "Each and everyone of them, we gave a lot of thought into them we wanted the bride to be proud." Kurtz said.

So what's the catch? There really isn't one. "The agreement part is just to go through some marriage coaching - that's the same thing you would go through at any church," said Pastor Pigg.

There are six counseling sessions over a six week period, but just think about what you could do with all the money you will have saved. "I hope that by the time that they are here the time that they are with us we can put a little bit of that grace of God in them," Kurtz said.

The wedding will be offered on certain days in April and May as well as September and October. If you are interested just call the church at 281-345-6435 or stop by and sign up. It is on a first come/first serve basis. They are also still taking donations if you are interested in donating to the cause.
