Many of you have either seen or heard about that F-bomb Vice President, Joe Biden, dropped the other day before President Barack Obama signed the health care reform bill. 39 News decided to dig into the issue of manners and whether some have them anymore.

Everywhere you turn, someone is always on a cell phone. A grocery store line, drive thru, coffee shop - you name it ... cell phones are everywhere.

Club Etiquette founding director, GiGi Lewis, of Houston, has been working with clients on their manners for over a decade.

"We have the luxury of teaching corporations and teaching children, so we hear from both ends (about) the complaints people have," Lewis said.

And there's many.

"Many people who are retailers are very put off by people who are on their cell phones, talking," Lewis said.

With the need for jobs in this economy, what happens if you're out to eat with that employer during an interview?

"What I see that has hurt people, and that we try and help them with, is anything from the dining manners, because more and more job interviews are being done over the dining table," Lewis said.

GiGi admits that, "a little habit that we might have from childhood might cost us a job."

If you're looking for one, here's what you don't want to do.

"The HR (human resource) people are telling me that they're texting abbreviations, and they're sending cover letters with that," she said.

As for our Vice President's recent choice of words the other day?

"Anyone can make a mistake. But that's a national leader," Lewis said.

"That one kind of shocked me," said Tabitha Johnson, a Houston native, about our Vice President's surprising moment. "That's all I can really say on that one. That one was crazy."

"You know, you've gotta be careful, especially when kids see that," said John Lins, who's also from Houston.

So having good manners is still a work in progress, but some of us are trying.
