On the website you can click to buy the Groupon, and if an allotted number of Groupons are bought up, the next day you'll receive a printable Groupon in your inbox.
The allotted number of people who need to purchase each Groupon varies day to day. That's because participating businesses decide how many people they need to buy them up to make it worth their while.
The Houston branch of Groupon.com launched Monday. The first local business featured was Ruggles Green restaurant in River Oaks. Their deal: $35 gift card for $15.
"This opportunity was wonderful because it's a large scale mass media marketing campaign." said Ruggles Green Assistant General Manager Dustin Bartholomew.
375 Groupons were bought up by lunchtime.
