The series is based off the 2006 romantic comedy The Holiday, starring Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet. Each girl, desperately needing a vacation, swaps houses for the Christmas holiday and ends up finding love.

"We don't quite go from London to L.A. like they did in the movie. More like domestic big cities, so for instance we're swapping L.A. with Houston, Tampa Bay with Dallas, Boston with Miami," said Devon Platte, Senior Producer for Holidate.

But the ultimate goal is for the women to find love.

"I've had the worst experience in love and relationships. I live L.A. where it's very tough to meet quality people. I decided to see if I could meet someone in another city," said Jacky Reres.

Once the women switch cities, they are set up on three dates with men, hand-selected by the other lady. 39 News caught up with Jacky while she was on her date with Ryan Nussbaum at the Houston Zoo. Nussbaum was recommended by Cynthia Hunt, you may recognize her from her days as a Houston television news reporter.

"I've never been the one to look for anything, I like the experience to happen as it is - if it comes my way great, if it doesn't that's fine too," Nussbaum said.

Cynthia was in L.A. on her three dates, while Nussbaum and Jacky were enjoying their day at the Zoo.

"I love it here the people are so nice - the only thing I don't like is the humidity, it's pretty humid," Jacky said.

Will these two be the perfect match? Only time will tell.
