Happy Hours for Hunger is a new way for Houstonians to have a night out, and help fund the Houston Food Bank.
The month of September is Hunger Action Month, and a handful of local restaurants and bars are sponsoring the social events as a fundraiser.
South Beach The Night Club, Chances, Poison Girl, Absinthe, Sawyer Park Sports Bar, Beaver's, and The Harp are the names that have signed on so far.
"What we're trying to do is get support from avenues you never would have thought of before." said Houston Food Bank President Brian Greene.
This September will launch the first ever Happy Hours for Hunger to Benefit the Houston Food Bank.
According to the Houston Food Bank 932,000 southeast Texans are food insecure.
