Authorities said they discovered 40 suspected illegal immigrants living in the home crammed together in empty and unfurnished rooms.

"Nothing ever happens on this street. Never," said Ana Hall.

Hall was shocked to learn about the immigration roundup next door. A look inside the home through a window revealed the deplorable conditions inside. The empty house is littered with cups and few scattered bits of clothing.

"We didn't see anybody, I was expecting to see somebody to say hi, but they just moved in a week ago," Hall said.

An ICE spokesman said the people in custody are from China, Honduras, Mexico, El Salvador, and Guatemala. Authorities went to the home after they received a tip that MS13 gang members were going to hit the location.

Cameron Garret, 10, watched from across the street as agents led away 29 men and 11 women; three are children including a pregnant 16-year-old.

"It's wrong to hold people against their will," said Garrett.

ICE agents are interviewing two of the suspects to determine if there is a connection to a human smuggling ring.

"It's sad because I've been living on this street for 20 years and never, ever, ever something happens on this street," said Hall.

Hall had hoped to get to know her new next-door neighbors and welcome them to the neighborhood.

This is the second immigration raid this week. On Tuesday, Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested several suspected illegal immigrants being held in a southeast Houston home.
