We've all seen those burger commercials advertising how big their burgers are. Yet fast food chains have nothing on a Houston burger joint, and its monster of a challenge.

39 News learned about what could be the Bayou City's biggest burger. Ray's Franks & More is new to Houston. It opened last summer but offers a classic dining experience.

"You could say it's an antique," said Arther Henrickson, a Houstonian, and employee of Ray's Franks & More. "It's just an old time Houston (type of place)."

Nestled off the corner of Nance and Richey Street, Ray's Franks & More is known for its hot dogs and hamburgers, which are named after popular scary movies.

"People know the movies (like) The Blob, and they know leatherface from Texas Chainsaw Massacre and stuff like that," said Henrickson.

One customer, who told us it was his fifth visit to the place, said their "burgers are great. They have a different type of bun. They're pretty big too."

If you have a big appetite, the King Kong burger is your best bet.

"It's five meat patties and the one (is) our vegetarian pattie, which is a black bean and rice patty we make here," said Henrickson. "You've got an incentive of getting a free over three pound burger if you finish it within thirty minutes with the fries."

Houstonian Danny Pham says he's ready for the challenge.

"Six patties (and) three pounds of meat. I got this!"

So when asked if he has any last words before he attempts the task, Pham's response?

"I hope I get another free one after this."

But 30 minutes after Pham started, there was a change of plans. Danny came close but couldn't quite finish.

"This time on Dan vs. Food, (the) food won," Pham said laughing.

So unfortunately, Danny's heading to the wall of shame with a full stomach but $25 lighter. And once again, Ray's Franks & More wins moving to 8-0 in the King Kong food challenge.

"I suggest if you try it, prepare yourself maybe a day in advance of not eating anything," said Henrickson.

"It's called the King Kong for a reason. I ain't got nothing on King Kong," said Pham.
