It's what the people at Ten Acres Auto Parts have been waiting for over the past year and a half.

"I knew this day would come, I just didn't know when," said Eric Matt, as he spoke of the arrest of Timoteo Rios, the man accused of killing his ex-wife.

Rios, 24, is charged with killing Tina Davila, 39, in April 2008. As of Wednesday night, Rios is in a Mexican jail. It's the end of a long manhunt involving the Harris County Sheriff's Office and the FBI.

"This just shows you what teamwork will do," said FBI agent Brian Ritchie.

Surveillance video from a Cricket cell phone store on I-10 and Uvalde captured what happened. Tina Davila refused to give her keys to a carjacker because her 4-month-old daughter was still inside the car. Davila was stabbed to death.

The getaway driver, Kennedy Escoto, was arrested soon after the murder. He is now serving 40 years.

Police in two countries never stopped looking for Rios. A tip led investigators to Rios outside of Guadalajara, Mexico. Rios' uncle was also arrested. Ezequiel Villarreal, 42, was wanted for killing his wife in February 2006. Police say Villarreal shot his wife right in front of her children.

Rios will be extradited to Houston, and the District Attorney's Office says it will not consider the death penalty.

"It's part of the agreement to get Rios here," said spokesperson Donna Hawkins.

"It's a difficult process that we have to go through, but it's safe to say he will not be free to harm anyone again," said Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia.
