Harris County deputies have released composite sketches of two men wanted for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl.
Deputies say the girl was walking her dog in the Lake of Bellaire Subdivision last Thursday when a white cargo-type van pulled up.
According to deputies, two men, depicted in the composite sketches, tried to get the girl in the van, but she walked away. Deputies say the van stopped and one of the men grabbed the girl by the arm and dragged her into the van. Once inside, deputies say tne man held the girl down while the other sexually assaulted her. But the girl was able to escape during the assault by kicking one of the men in the groin and hitting the other in the eye with her hand. The men fled the scene.
"The girl did an absolutely wonderful job to get as much as she could be traumatized, as she was to get this type of description out on these two suspects," said Deputy Russell Ackley of the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
The young victim knows about violent crime. Her mother died as the victim of an unsolved 2003 homicide in Houston. She credits her mother for her strength.
"I got it from my mom," the young victim told 39's Dennis Spellman.
She also said she wants the men caught soon.
"I don't want them to hurt nobody else," she said.
Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
