Want to go back to the Future? Just walk into an Humble business and you might see Doc Brown or Marty McFly.

They have a "Back to the Future" pinball machine here, but the engines in the back let you know this business is unique. A few years ago the people here bought the rights to the DeLorean name and logo from the infamous car company from the 1980's.

Delorean Motor Company rebuilds and refurbishes the stainless steel cars.

They sell about 120 cars a year, the average price is about $57,000. In 1981 they were about half that. There are enough parts here to make 500 DeLoreans. Some of these parts come from the original DeLorean plant in Belfast, Ireland. Lately, the talk here is about a "new" DeLorean.

"We thought if John DeLorean was still around he would be excited because he got his start at Pontiac. We're trying to put together a deal," DMC Vice President, James Espey said.

Espey is talking with the people behind the now defunct Pontiac brand from General Motors. It's possible the Pontiac Solstice could become the DeLorean Solstice. The car would be made at an old GM factory in Delaware. The thought of it all is getting attention. Newdelorean.com has gotten 26,000 hits since last month.

It all comes 27 years after DeLorean's high-profile acquittal on drug trafficking charges. A jury believed he was entrapped into raising money for his struggling company.

Now it could be back to the future and back to work.

"I've spoken to John's family and his widow they are real happy with it," Espey said.
