"Its horrible this is the most peaceful neighborhood in Houston," said Bob Pemberton, resident.

Neighbors said the thirty-seven year old homeowner and her twenty- seven year old boyfriend had argued before. This time, he carried a loaded gun. Investigators said the argument escalated and the twenty-seven year old apparently shot the homeowner through the glass door of the home. When Constable Pct. 4 Deputies arrived the gunman began firing. Investigators said they had no choice but to shoot back.

"There were police cars everywhere. After seven years, this is the scariest thing I have experienced," said Suzanne Guy, resident. "We've just never had anything like that."

The couple was rushed to Ben Taub Hospital where the gunman died from his wound. The homeowner is in critical condition fighting for her life.

"We are all friends in this neighborhood and we have a friend that was killed," said Pemberton.

Neighbors were shocked, they never saw this coming.
