If you were among the many local homeowners who experienced a water pipe burst because of the cold snap, chances are you found it hard to find an available plumber or are on a waiting list.The hard freeze wreaked havoc on some unprepared homeowners.
"We were able to do 56 calls yesterday," said Milton Frank, owner of his own plumbing company. "For this whole week, we have a full board schedule."
"A lot of time people won't even know they have leaks because their pipes are still frozen," said Joe Castro, a master plumber. "As the day warms up and those pipes thaw out, then we'll have pipe bursts everywhere."
Experts say it's still a good idea to insulate your exposed pipes and faucets.
