Children are taught not to trust people they don't know during stranger danger awareness classes. The same principles they learn also apply in adult situations when it comes to meeting someone for the first time.

Realtor, Danny Frank, knows he takes a risk every time he shows a home to a potential buyer because he never knows whom he is letting in through the door.

"Some of the precautions, we have to take is number one - we have to let people know where we are going, when we're going there and who we're going with," said Frank with Keller Williams Realtor.

On Thursday, a house-hunting trip in North Harris County ended in gunshots after a brother and sister went to a home on Gruss Street with a friend. Authorities said, the brother and friend went inside the home when three armed men confronted them.

"They robbed them of their wallets. On the way out, it's unknown what happened outside - the sister was waiting outside and there was a gunshot. She was shot in the head," said Sgt. Robert Torny with Harris County Sheriff's Department.

Detectives are looking for the man who lured the siblings to the home with the promise of renting it. The three other suspects are still on the run.

Frank said it's a good idea for renters and buyers to checkout the person they are trusting to be alone with in a strange location.

"It is always great idea to meet at a neutral location like real estate office," he said.
