Pasadena ISD has just announced it's closing Matthys Elementary School because of a probable case of swine flu. The school will be closed until Monday, May 18. The closure includes all school activities, including the Champions Program. The Matthys Elementary closure in Pasadena makes eight schools in the Houston area now closed due to the H1N1 virus.
Friday, Beckendorff Junior High in Katy, Lamar Junior High in Rosenberg, and the Greatwood Montessori School in Sugar Land announced they're closed because of probable swine flu cases.
On Thursday, HISD closed Lyons Elementary after a confirmed case and Harvard Elementary and Hamilton Middle schools were closed due to probable cases. Episcopal High School closed Wednesday night after a confirmed case there.
