A brazen and early morning burglary has investigators asking for the community's help identifying the culprits.
In the 11 years that Shooters Station has stood just off SH 105 in Conroe no one has dared to burglarize the gun shop.
That is until Monday morning.
"The building is pretty secure there are no windows. There is only a front door and a back door," said owner, Danny Benois.
But around four o'clock, surveillance video captured two masked burglars breaking into the store. A process, which Benois said probably, took 20 to 30 minutes.
"What they done was cut the front door - the metal, and broke the glass and came inside the store," said Benois.
Once inside, the suspects emptied two display cases containing shotguns and handguns. The two men tripped the shop's silent alarm, but by the time Montgomery Sheriff's deputies arrived they were gone.
Investigators estimate as many as 50 weapons were taken.
"Any time you have 50 guns stolen in a community its a concern, not only for the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, but surrounding police agencies in surrounding communities," said Lt. Dan Norris with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department.
By late Monday afternoon, a welder was busy fixing the shop's security gate and adding more locks.
Meanwhile, Benois is hoping his security cameras will soon reveal the men behind the masks, before his inventory ends up in the wrong hands.
"They went for the more popular guns because I'm thinking they're probably going to try and resell them," said Benois.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms is helping in Montgomery County's investigation.
