MISSOURI CITY -
Missouri City police say a resident shot a suspect during a robbery attempt in Missouri City.
Police say a 20-year-old man was working on his car in his driveway on Glenwild near Hickory Glen Wednesday afternoon when another car pulled up and two men got out with a rifle yelling for money. Police say the suspects took the man inside the home to the second floor. During a scuffle, investigators say the 20-year-old was able to get a gun and fire at the suspects, hitting one of them. The other suspects fled the scene. The suspect who was shot was taken to the hospital by helicopter. His condition is unknown.
The getaway car is described as a gold colored Toyota Avalon, model year 1998-2000, with dark tinted windows.
The Stafford Municipal School District ordered a shelter in place for students in the area, but it has been lifted.
