I love dogs! Got two at home. Training a Christmas present puppy can be challenging though huh? If you have dogs and you take the time to interact with them, you've probably wondered how much they understand. What you're saying to them, what you're doing, even how you're feeling.
Researchers at the Hungarian academy of sciences did a study that says dogs understand human communication that was previously only attributed to 6 month infants! And your dog doesn't just rely on verbal commands to figure out what we want. They look into your eyes even study your face. Maybe that explains why they can be so comforting when you're not feeling well or sad. Dogs try to anticipate what's going to happen next. They read body language! It’s the same with other dogs within 30 seconds of taking your dog to the park they've already gathered all kinds of information about which dogs are dominant, submissive, randy, etc. So if you're training or just want to have a conversation with your pet, tune into his or her language get their attention, sometimes hard to do with a little puppy, and try to think as they would. Use body language, facial expressions etc. on a side note as i was petting my dog, I started thinking what a weird appendage a tail really is. All cartilage-y and vertebrae like! Kind of like a spine with fur on it and the way it just wags back and forth... Weird right..
