The fact that M.I.A., the female rapper that shot the bird to the camera, is all that people are talking about regarding Madonna’s halftime performance Sunday night says it all.
Madonna was ok and unfortunately that translates into "not good enough" by today's standards! The performance seemed dated, and pretentious. Mechanical, just going through the motions with no passion. Madonna attempted to appear relevant by surrounding herself with Cee Lo Green, Nicki Manaj and LMFAO to seem hip, but instead looked like a senior citizen trying to dance like the youngsters on stage with her.
The difference between Madonna and Lady Gaga is had Gaga been up there dressed like an alien sitting behind a piano, the show becomes about an artist performing music. With Madonna it’s a dancer doing old dance moves, very basic vocalizing, costumes and the weight of Madges ginormous ego weighing heavy on the shoulders of everyone up there! Including the dancers dressed like roman soldiers. She was swallowed by the production.
