You may be wondering why I haven't said much about the GOP race for the presidency. Well it’s because I don't think any one of the choices is all that! Thanks to the web and the availability of information, most all the candidates appear to be loathsome characters in one way or another. I don't think it would be any different if we were talking about democrats. It’s not the best candidate; it’s the one with the most money who gets the nomination.
No matter who it is, we can't turn back time to the way things "used to be". Whatever moves any President makes, we may see glimmers of the past but we're moving into the future with a completely new set of challenges, many unknown. America's biggest issue is the income divides between the haves and the haves not’s getting farther apart, and intelligent hard working people worth two and three times what they're earning, not being able to save money for a rainy day or retirement. Most corporations, if given incentives to hire and bigger tax breaks, no longer compensate employees enough to make it, instead paying people just enough so they won't quit. Healthcare reform, social security, Medicaid/Medicare is all things that need reform by politicians on both sides of the aisle willing to compromise. And of course we need jobs.
I think the whole governmental system needs a makeover. So that’s why I haven't said much about politics lately.
