This happened at the movie theatre recently. What would you have done?
In the row in front of me two couples side by side in the center. A man with a wife and two kids in tow walks up and asks in a not so nice, direct and authoritative way; do you think you guys could scoot down one seat each so that we could all fit in the row? The wife of the couple on the far end thought for a second and said, well I want to sit here, that’s why I came early. This ruffled the guy’s feathers and he kind of miffed, stormed down a few rows in search of another place. Then without a word, the other couple got up and moved to the far end of the row.
Now you could look at this two ways...why not move? What’s the big deal, or like the woman that spoke up, I came early...you're late and I want to sit here! Personally, I probably would have moved to accommodate. Now, if you too think you would have moved.. See if what occurred next will make you think twice next time. When the guy saw the other couple move, he came back up and said for all to hear "Oh someone finally got it.. It’s not rocket science!"
I was sitting there thinking what a jerk! Actually I was thinking another word. This dude asks for a favor from complete strangers, they accommodate him and then he has to make a nasty remark crapping on the people that just helped him?!!
You know sometimes it’s just not worth it to be nice…You wind up with a pain in your seat!
