A picture is worth a thousand words. When they are pictures of your kids, they can be worth a lot more.
When it came time for football photos last fall, the east Montgomery County Youth Football League wanted to score a touchdown for parents, local photographer Jamie Koppi of Koppi Write Photography was brought in to tackle the job. Proud parents were happy to pay in advance.
But now parents say they were treated with unnecessary roughness. They say they paid for pictures they never received and the pictures they did get were poor quality. Pictures worth thousands of dollars.
Parents say now Koppi won’t even take their phone calls and the NewsFixer has learned Koppi Write has several other unhappy customers. The Texas Attorney General has received complaints about Koppi and according to the Better Business Bureau's website; they give Koppi an F due to unresolved complaints.
We tried to talk to Koppi, but she didn’t return our phone calls. When we went to her studio we found a locked door. So the NewsFixer went looking for her at her house where she told us she is working it out.
On her website Koppi offers her 'deepest apologies.' She blames a 'complete mix-up and a fumble' in processing for the problems. She also says she 'is not a thief.'
We will see...she stills owes parents money or at least the rest of photographs they paid for. Hopefully she will make good on her promises.
