Congrats to the GOP on debating, sniping, and attacking one another perhaps, right out of contention for the White House! Some say it makes for better prepared, sharper, candidates but the whole process has gotten nastier than ever, with disrespect toward one another never more blatant! It’s a turnoff!
And all these guys lack likeability. None seem to have a sense of humor, even their wives. Santorum, too serious, scared maybe? Ron Paul, seems common sense but also kind of kooky? Maybe too old? Gingrich a smart, serial womanizer. Newt's demeanor changes fast too like real newts change color! I don't trust him! Romney, a rich guy businessman. Romney earned over $40 million in the last two years. The $3 million he paid just in taxes in 2010 is more money than the other 99% will ever see. I don't begrudge rich people; in fact I encourage it and hope to be one someday. I just hope Mitt isn't too out of touch to know average Americans are hurting and need jobs and opportunity to at least have a shot at the American dream! One of our writers put it best though, watching these candidates’ debate is like watching a circular firing squad.
It’s going to be a tough slog for the GOP with no guarantee of a win, but the way I see it, the only candidate with even a shot of dethroning Barack Obama is Mitt Romney and he's not conservative enough for many in the Republican Party. That has many on the right saying; we may as well keep the President we got for another four years!
