Convenience store clerks have to put up with all kids of crazies, but unfortunately, the burglar bars on one Northwest Houston store couldn't keep one out.

Houston Police say Terrance Hall, 33, walked into the "Newland Food Store" on West Little York Thursday evening, reportedly in an agitated state.

The store clerk, 49, told officers that the regular customer climbed onto an ATM and jumped over the bullet-proof glass that was protecting the clerk.

The clerk felt threatened, so he pulled out a gun and fired several shots.

Hall was rushed to Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No charges have been filed against the clerk. Although, police on the scene called the shooting "justified".

The case has been referred to the Harris Country Grand Jury.
