Ready to go back in time?
How can anyone forget the 1989 classic "Back to the Future II", where Marty McFly needs to borrow your Hover Board.
The futuristic Nike Mag sneakers McFly wore on that Hover Board made millions stand-up and take notice.
The sought-after McFly's were recently made for purchase, but only 1,500 pairs were made, and they're not cheap.
"The highest I've seen is like $10,000, $9,000 roughly though," Carlos Navarrete, a Houstoninan, who displayed his pair of McFly's at the H-Town Sneaker Summit, said.
$9,000-10,000 for shoes? Really?
"It was pretty much 150 pairs released everyday [on eBay] for 10 days straight, and you just had to see if you had a chance to get them. I was fortunate enough to get a pair myself," said Navarrete.
And how much did Carlos pay for his pair?
"Ball park [was] under $4,000; a little bit over $3,000," he said with a smile.
When people found out Carlos is one of only two Houstonians who own the McFly's, oh, you would have thought Elvis walked in the building.
"That's future before future was a future," said one shoe collector.
Another?
"This is a piece of history right now"
Now that Carlos has landed a piece of history, he's glad to know where his hard earned money is going to.
"It was going for a good cause for the Parkinson disease," he said. "[The]Michael J. [Fox] Foundation [ForParkinson'sResearch]."
OK. The McFly's are released ... what's next? The Hover Board?
