The Federal Emergency Management Agency funds have dropped to $800-million.

After major disasters earlier this year, like floods and tornadoes in Alabama and Missouri, FEMA is running on fumes.

Not to mention, FEMA is still paying for projects 6 years later, related to hurricane Katrina.

Needless to say helping hurricane Irene victims becomes the immediate financial need.

Reconstruction projects from past disasters will be put on hold and while Congress is reluctant to spend any money these days, the Senate will have the last decision whether or not to will allocate more funds for natural disasters.

May not be a bad idea, the end of hurricane season is still months away.
