When Arian Foster re-aggravated his left hamstring against San Francisco on Saturday, Aug. 27 Texans nation was worried, especially Fantasy Football League players. So Foster decided to send a message on his Twitter page:
"4 those sincerely concerned, I'm doing ok & plan 2 B back by opening day. 4 those worried abt [about] your fantasy team, u ppl [people] are sick."
Sick? Does Foster really feel that way? NewsFix caught up with 2010 NFL rushing leader during a recent Texans practice about the tweet.
"What I was saying was that people that value a digital game over a human beings health is just kind of weird to me, and that's all I meant by that," Foster said. "And people took it as 'oh, I don't care about fantasy [league] football.' I think it's good for the game. It gets people that don't really watch into it. I'm on my mother's fantasy football [league] team so, you know, I got to do good."
When ESPN's Colin Cowherd found out the news, he decided to speak for all of the Foster-owning fantasy leaguers with this line on Twitter:
"Hey Arian Foster -- we really do care about you as a human too. Um... now about that hammy? Signed everybody."
Foster's reply?
"Did you want to be a critic as a child? Or did your dreams die with your humility?"
Ouch. Did Foster put Cowherd in his place or what? You be the judge.
On a different note, Foster said he's grateful that so many of his fans are concerned about his hamstring and running game.
"I love all my fans. If you've been following me on Twitter, you know what kind of person and human being I am," he said.
"I've gotta stand by my boy," said James Casey, a Texans fullback and Rice University product. "I'm lead blocking for him now so I think he's going to have a great year, and you know we're looking forward to it."
So is Foster.
