ROSHARON, TX—
Two teenagers are hospitalized and one is dead after a joyride took a turn for the worst.
Three teens from Queen Intermediate Middle School were speeding in a stolen pickup truck Monday night on FM 521 near 1462 in Brazoria County. When a DPS trooper pulled the pickup over, the teens sped off and threw something out of the window as he exited his patrol car.
The trooper chased the teens before the driver, 14 year old Ezquiel Serna, lost control of the pickup on County Road 39 and FM 1462. The car flipped several times.
The two passengers were life-flighted to Memorial Hermann Hospital. Serna died at the scene.
Pasadena ISD released a statement saying counselors are on hand at Queen Intermediate to help students and staff members as needed.
