Online dating is now the second most popular way for couples to hook up, according to the University of Rochester.
The study shows that 25 million users worldwide were taking advantage of the web for their dating service, in a single month in 2011.
Once people get past high school and college, it becomes more difficult to meet a significant other. Online introductions help adults find common interests and initiate healthy, loving relationships.
There is a down side though... Many don't go beyond the virtual date for weeks or months, so by the time they actually meet, that chemistry tends to fizzle. Who can live up to expectations?
For those who think the mathematical approach...with the fancy algorithms that are supposed to predict your perfect match is the way to go, think again. There is no proof they work.
