The unemployment rate for teens stands at about 25%, but that number doesn't include teens that aren't looking for jobs. Once all teens are factored in only 25% will actually earn a summer paycheck.The biggest contributor is most likely the slowdown in consumer spending, causing retailers, the most popular providers for teen summer jobs, to cut back.
Wouldn't it be nice to go back to those simpler times?
