It's been a year since 13-year-old Asher Brown put a gun to his head and took his own life. His family said he was constantly bullied at Hamilton Middle School for being gay.

There's been so much talk and debate since then. But this week, his parents went on YouTube to ask for silence.

Asher's suicide was one of several that prompted the "It Gets Better" campaign on YouTube. Hundreds of celebrities and everyday folks uploaded videos describing their experiences of being gay or supporting those who are.

14-year-old Jamey Rodemeyer from Buffalo, New York was one of those people.

But for Jamey, it didn't get better. He hung himself last Sunday after years of bullying.

Jamey had called Lady Gaga a great source of strength for him. When Gaga heard about his death, she took to Twitter, calling bullying a hate crime.

She vowed to meet with the President about it and she just might get her chance next week at an Obama fundraiser she's scheduled to attend.

"This must end," gaga tweeted. "Our generation has the power to end it."

For Asher, Jamey, and all of us... Let's hope so.
