Voters fromMexico'sruling conservative party have backed Josefina Vazquez Mota to be their first female presidential candidate.  In July, Vazquez Mota will face a guy who already has a solid lead in the polls.

But the congressional leader and former education minister is tough stuff.  She's already pledging she won't back down to drug cartels if she's elected, telling screaming crowds recently: "courage has nothing to do with gender."
