Sex offenders are scary, but they are even scarier when they manage to stay under the radar. Nearly 100,000 rapists, child molesters and other sex offenders around the country, who are registered in databases after serving time in jail, are missing! Marshals nationwide have launched a massive manhunt to find them.
Recently a man, previously convicted of statutory rape, was caught living at an address in Baltimore different than the one at which he was registered. He said he knew he was breaking court orders, but that he needed to escape from extremely tough living conditions. Hey dude, life for predators is supposed to be tough.
Here's one more thing to make you think: advocacy groups also claim that the number of registered offenders nationwide grew 23% since last year.
So if you were looking for a good reason to get to know your neighbors, now you have one.
