In Madonna’s latest tv appearance she will take the stage at half time of Super Bowl XLVI and will be seen by millions and millions of viewers worldwide.
But before Madonna was a household name, before she sold millions of albums, before she released her controversial book “Sex,” before she was kissing girls at awards shows and before she appeared nude in Playboy and Penthouse, Madonna appeared for the first time on an 80s teen dance show. Before Maonna danced in some of the most memorable dance videos in history, she danced in a local television studio in Philadelphia.
The show, Dancin’ on Air, was filmed in Philadelphia and this video was Madonna’s first television appearance. She appeared on the show in 1983 after the release of her first single “Everybody,” before she was a movie star, well before she acquired an English accent and only slightly after the time she was known only to her family and close firends by her full name of Madonna Louise Veronica Ciccone.
