There is much talk in Bay City, TX about a coal burning power plant White Stallion Energy Center being constructed that will be a hazard to the environment. Luckily our younger generation is coming forward to speak against the dangerous power plant.
St. Catherine's Montessori's Adolescent Community students will be heading to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) in Austin this week to speak out against the planned White Stallion Energy Center in Bay City, TX.
With the sponsorship of Green Bank, the middle school students, ranging in age from 12-15 will be speaking on Wednesday morning at TCEQ.
Six St. Catherine's students spoke at a recent town hall meeting in Houston. Since there was a great response from the public, TCEQ Executive Director Mark Vickery encouraged the group to attend Wednesday's meeting in Austin.
The children will be presenting their views and speak about their opposition to the proposed "clean coal" plant.
