  3. Depressed Lee

All hail the levees!   New Orleans residents are breathing a sigh of relief. Not only has 'Lee' been downgraded from a tropical storm to a tropical depression, but the cities new and improved levy and pump system was put to the test and passed with flying colors.  Lee dumped more than a foot-of rain on New Orleans causing flooding to several areas but only forcing about 200-famlies out of their homes.  A much different scene than that in 2005.  Hurricane Katrina actually dropped just about the same amount of rain as Lee did.  The difference?  Levees that were prepared to handle the foot of rain.  Heavy rainfall is expected for the next few days as lee moves northeast up the coast.
