  11. Celebrate Barktoberfest at The Houston SPCA

There won't be polka bands, chicken dances, Bavarian costumes or beer, but there might just be a German Shepherd mix dog or two at the Houston SPCA's BARKTOBERFEST!
We have many happy hunde (that's German for dogs!) at the Houston SPCA that are longing for a permanent, loving home to call their own. In addition, on Wednesday we will once again lend a helping hand to our neighbors in Louisiana as we take in close to 50 dogs that were left homeless due to the Gulf Oil Spill tragedy.
In celebration of BARKTOBERFEST, the adoption fee for all dogs 6 months of age or older and weighing 30 pounds or more will be deeply discounted at half the normal adoption fee! This is offer is good through Sunday, October 3, 2010 only.
Regardless of the size, age or breed, dogs make loyal companions and are a great addition when considering adding a companion to your family. Thanks to the helpful staff at the Houston SPCA, here is what your new furever friend will receive as a part of their adoption package:
