  3. Fewer Gays on TV, but Fox has the Most

    Fewer gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender characters are showing up on broadcast TV this year, according to the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation. GLAAD counts just 19 LGBT characters among the 647 characters on regular scripted network programs. That is just 2.9 percent, down from 3.9 percent last year.

  7. Free Stuff for Filling Out Census

    Two cities in Galvestion County are giving away free stuff to residents if they hurry up and fill out their 2010 census forms.  It takes just ten minutes to complete ten questions.  The reward is free giveaways such as hats, shirts and mugs.  Participation is important because the response helps determine the amount of federal funding Galveston and Texas City will receive for transit and housing repair programs.
Galveston residents have until Friday at 6 p.m. to get their free stuff.
