Highlights
The Green Monster is the nickname of the left field wall at Fenway Park, home to the Boston Red Sox. The 37-foot wall is the highest among Major League Baseball fields. It is known for preventing home runs, but in turn, also allows for more double as the ball bounces off the wall. In the 2002-03 offseason, the Green Monster (which wasn't actually painted green until 1947) experienced some construction with the creation of 274 fan seats. The official mascot of the Red Sox is named Wally, a furry green monster, in honor of Fenway's famous wall.
